Frontline and tapeworms
I've often treated my dogs for tapeworms, and know they are caused by ingesting infected fleas, but someone told me awhile back that treating with Frontline will not only kill fleas, but since it is absorbed through the skin, will treat tapeworms. I've treated my dogs, and intentionally not treated them for tapes, just to see. I've closely monitored their bathroom habits, and the tapeworm segments are gone. Could they go away on their own, simply because the fleas are gone, or could there be some truth to this?

Re: Frontline and tapeworms
Was told by my vet that frontline or advantage will get rid of most worms, but not tapeworms, mine had them and I have used the frontline and advantage faithfully each month. I brought the rottie in and got her a shot then a pill to take in a few days, got just the pills for my two house (couchrats) dogs. You may want to check with you vet and get a round of meds to make sure the dog is completely clear.
Re: Frontline and tapeworms
Have you talked to your Vet about the Frontline and Tapeworms. If you don't want to go in you should be able to call and ask. My Vet will answer questions over the phone, they know I will bring my dogs in anytime they think I should or when I think I should. They go to the Vet more times then I go to the Doctor, sometimes it nothing to worry about.
