Bark in the Park

I may be in the wrong forum to mention this, but I've read on the internet about an event in Girard Park, Lafayette, on Oct. 5th, which will include a Halloween costume contest for dogs, along with other activities, all centered around the Animal Rescue Foundation. I attended one here in Jennings last year at Founder's Park, and I would like to see other "events" like this in our town. Also, there is a petition being signed in Lafayette for the opening of a dog park. I would love for Jennings to have something like this as well. I would have no idea who to speak to about it, but just thought I'd mention it!

You would need to contact you council person, it would be best if someone like a vet would do it. You may even want to talk to the Mayor or attend a council meeting and bring up the subject, i'm sure there is enough people with pets in Jennings to support it. I think when they had the event in founders park the lady with the Tupper Store promoted it, you may want to talk to her.

It would be nice to have a dog park but I would be worried about big and small dogs running loose together.....not sure if Jennings would fund 2 separate dog parks though like a small breed dog park and a large breed one....most large cities have it separate like that for safety issues.
